For Whom Are We Reading?

As we know that reading is important. Although, there are some people in the rural still can not get the access to learn how to read. But in the city there are many people can read properly. Especially the youth.

The youth are those who will replace the old in every position in the future. Who will lead this world into the next golden era. So it’s important to encourage the youth to read.

Particularly The Muslim youth should realize the important of reading. Because What Allah revealed to the messenger Muhammad Shalallahu ‘alaihi Wasallam is the order to read.

Reading is not only something written in the paper or articles. But also there are many signs to read. The creation of Allah which are human being, life, and universe.

We’re not created by chance, Allah created us in purpose. There’s none of purpose but worshipping Him. Allah gives brain and heart so we don’t go astray and against His law. It’s why reading so important for human being in his position as servant of Allah so he will not be defiant.

In fact, there are so many subjects to read, but here I want to tell you something. So far, we like to read novel, poetry, poem, short story, fiction books, fairy tales, etc. But for whom are we reading them? Either for entertaining  ourselves or satisfying our thirst of knowledge.

As Muslim we have the holy book that should be completed, afterwards there’re plenty of hadiths we should read and learn them.

I don’t prevent you to read other books in this world. But isn’t it better to have priority what to read. And also, it’s important to straighten our intention only for Allah the almighty.

Does what we read benefits us so that can enlighten our hearts or just makes far astray.  So from now on, encourage our selves to read books or something else but keep your intention for the sake of Allah. The God of all the creations.

Untuk siapa kita membaca?

Seperti yang kita tahu bahwa membaca itu sangat penting. Walaupun sebagian orang di daerah terpencil masih belum bisa mengakses untuk belajar membaca. Namun di perkotaan banyak orang dapat membaca dengan baik. Khususnya para pemuda.

Para pemuda adalah mereka yang akan menggantikan para orang tua di masa depan. Yang akan memimpin dunia ini ke era keemasan selanjutnya. Jadi sangat penting mendorong para pemuda untuk membaca.

Khususnya pemuda muslim harus menyadari pentingnya membaca. Karena Allah menurunkan kepada Rasulullah Muhammad Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam perintah untuk membaca.

Membaca bukan hanya sesuatu yang tertulis pada kertas atau artikel. Tapi ada banyak tanda-tanda yang perlu kita baca. Ciptaan Allah berupa manusia, kehidupan, dan alam semesta.

Kita tidak diciptakan secara kebetulan, Allah menciptakan kita dengan tujuan untuk menyembah-Nya. Allah memberikan akal dan hati sehingga kita tidak tersesat dan menentang hukum-Nya. Itulah kenapa membaca sangat penting untuk manusia dalam posisinya sebagai hamba-Nya agar tak tersesat.

Faktnya banyak sekali hal untuk dibaca, tapi saya ingin menyampaikan sesuatu. Sejauh ini kita suka membaca novel, sajak, puisi, cerpen, buku-buku fiksi, dongeng, dsb. Tapi untuk siapa kita membacanya? Apakah untuk menghibur diri sendiri atau memuaskan rasa dahaga kita akan ilmu.

Sebagai seorang muslim kita mempunya kitab suci yang harusnya kita selesaikan, setelahnya ada banyak hadits yang harus kita baca dan pelajari. Saya tidak mencegah untuk membaca buku yang lainnya, namun bukankah lebih baik memiliki skala prioritas dalam membaca. Dan sangat penting untuk meluruskan niat hanya karena Allah yang Maha Besar.

Apakah yang kita baca memberi manfaat sehingga menerangi hati kita atau malah membuat kita semakin menjauh (dari cahaya). Jadi mulai dari sekarang dorong diri kita untuk membaca buku atau sesuatu tapi tetapkan niat semata-mata karena Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, Tuhan segala makhluk.
